I hold the Transport Manager CPC (International) and worked in the transport office at Booker’s Haydock regional distribution centre for the past few years. It’s one of Booker’s main distribution hubs: a 24-hour operation running a fleet of 90 HGVs and 90 trailers with over 200 drivers, trunking ambient, chilled and frozen stock to Booker, Makro and Tesco branches every day.

My work there covers the compliance and planning that keep a fleet that size legal and moving:

• Driver card and vehicle unit downloads, tachograph analysis and infringement reporting
• Drivers’ hours and Working Time monitoring across day and night shifts
• Walkaround checks, defect reporting and follow-up with the workshop

Before Booker, I was a Transport Manager at ICS UK, a multi-drop chilled and frozen food distributor. I handled tacho analysis and driver debriefs, the maintenance planner, daily route planning and the compliance file.
